Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) is a legendary character in the Star Wars universe outside the films and might be after Grogu as well. Introduced in Timothy Zahn's 1991 novel Heir to the
I've been thinking that Thrawn will indeed be the main bad guy of the Filoniverse, but the end won't necessarily be an epic, massive space battle that's fought to decide a war. I think the ending of this crossover event will basically be Moff Gideon and Thrawn coming up as the big baddies, but then Thrawn somehow being turned or redeemed.
A villain that was introduced in Season 2 of The Mandalorian may be returning as an antagonist in Ahsoka on Disney+.. Grand Admiral Thrawn was previously believed to be the main villain of the upcoming Ahsoka series.. It was already confirmed that both he and Ezra Bridger will be the focus of the show and that their rescue from the Unknown Regions will serve as one of the main conflicts.
Thrawn's there. Ezra's there. Kevin Kiner: So, yeah, I pretty full-on play his theme there. That's one of the few times I play Ezra's theme, and that was so freaking awesome. 'This is a really dangerous, bad guy'. We need to add weight to it. We need to inject fear into just hearing that one note." That's how we kind of
(See Thrawn for an example.) But this seems to be a fan theory based on zero evidence, willed instead by a desire to see the character back in Star Wars. Either way, we'll likely learn much more
Thrawn Ascendancy, also known as Thrawn: The Ascendancy Trilogy or simply The Ascendancy Trilogy, is a trilogy series of Star Wars novels by Timothy Zahn. The books Chaos Rising (2020), Greater Good (2021), and Lesser Evil (2021), follow Thrawn as he rises through the ranks of the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet as war brews between the various Chiss families throughout the Unknown Regions.
Timothy Zahn talks of Thrawn as a bad guy, and this is how he portrays his character in the Thrawn Trilogy. But in "Outbound Flight" we learn that Thrawn is actually a cool guy and that he manouvers himself into a position of power within the Empire with the express purpose of fighting a future invasion by the Yuuzhan Vong.
Clearly, fans were still champing at the bit to see the big blue guy in live action. The Mandalorian began to tease Thrawn's eventual return in season 2 episode 5, when Ahsoka (Rosario Dawson) appears in live action for the first time. Ahsoka encounters Imperial magistrate Morgan Elsbeth (Diana Lee Inosanto), demanding to know Thrawn's location.
There's a lot of bad-guy and good-guy scheming going on in Ahsoka, and true to the past, Thrawn seems ahead of it all, ready to make a comeback and sew up plot holes created by The Force Awakens
Thrawn always was a really compelling and interesting character to me as he is for many; for me that translated to kinda hoping he would win. Of course, I recognize that he certainly is a "bad guy" in that series. But I'm excited for where they are taking the character and now I don't have to feel as bad for being on his side!
